Tottenham given permission to speak to Liverpool target Christian Eriksen
SPURS have been given permission to speak to Christian Eriksen by Ajax according to the club's sporting director Marc Overmars.
The north London outfit have been trying to put the world record fee they are set to receive for Gareth Bale on reinforcements.
They have been tracking Eriksen along with Liverpool for a while, and though Ajax are holding out for £12m, Spurs have only offered £8m.
Franco Baldini and Daniel Levy were in Amerstam on Wednesday to discuss the feasibility of signing the 21-year-old.
The talks are believed to have progressed nicely, with Overmars confirming that negotiations are underway.
"Yes, Levy was here and Eriksen has been given permission to speak to Tottenham.
"There is no agreement yet until it's signed.
"Obviously, if it happens, we won't be happy at all to lose him but he only has a year left on his contract."
