Dortmund fans launch campaign to 'free' Shinji Kagawa from Manchester United
BORUSSIA DORTMUND fans have launched a massive Twitter campaign in an attempt to convince Shinji Kagawa to leave Manchester United.
The campaign entitled 'Free Shinji' Kagawa adopted the #FreeShinji hashtag on Twitter and trended most of the morning in Germany.
Kagawa's debut season was hampered by injuries with the 24-year-old professing that the season didn't pan out for him the way he would have hoped.
The Japanese midfielder also failed to rule out a return to Dortmund, saying he would like to go back "one day".
But it seems Dortmund's viral campaign is unlikely to be successful with Jurgen Klopp confirming that he doesn't intend to bring Kagawa back to the club before the window closes.
"Coming back] is not an option for him this year and not an option for us," Klopp told reporters.
"This was made obvious quite quickly.
“Shinji wants to prove himself at Man United this season.
"I didn't think the response would be any different but better safe than sorry.”
