Spurs closer to Erik Lamela as Roma move for Adem Ljajic
SPURS' proposed move for Erik Lamela looks set to bring to an end a transfer merry-go-round involving Firoentina's Adem Ljajic.
The striker turned down a contract extension with La Viola and reportedly said goodbye to his team-mates as he didn't join in a training session.
Lamela and Ljajic's departure will also pave Gareth Bale's protracted departure from White Hart Lane.
Ljajic was originally close to joining AC Milan having reportedly signed a pre-contract deal with the Italian giants, but Fiorentina were reserved over selling to a domestic rival.
Italian paper Corriere dello Sport has it that a £10m fee has been agreed between Roma and Fiorentina for Ljajic's signature.
They go on to suggest that an announcement is expected to be made within the next 48 hours, which will confirm that Ljajic will put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Roma.
Ljajic was left out of the Fiorentina squad to play Catania yesterday and with the club's president admitting the player's departure is the most likely outcome.
Fiorentina are thought to have lined up 19-year-old Croatia international Rebic as Ljajic's replacement.
