Arsenal to step up quest for goalkeeper as they consider move for Espanyol's Kiko Casilla
ARSENAL are set to turn their attentions to Espanyol keeper Kiko Casilla as they seek to find a new shot stopper before the window closes.
The Gunners sent out their chief negotiator Dick Law to strike a deal for Valencia shot stopper Vicente Guaita, however have baulked at his £17m asking price.
Arsenal, according to reports in Spain, made a £3m bid which has been laughed off by Valencia.
Wenger is also keeping an eye on Real Madrid's Iker Casillas who has become increasingly disenchanted at the Bernebeu.
And now Casilla has emerged as another possible target for Wenger, who has become increasingly concerned with Wojciech Szczesny.
And according to a report in Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo, Casilla has a £17m buy-out clause inserted into his contract.
It is also thought that Arsenal scouts are set to run the rule over him in a La Liga match.
Casilla's contract with Espanyol runs out in 2015.
