Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho not prepared to countenance Juan Mata sale
CHELSEA boss Jose Mourinho has professed that he is not willing to let Juan Mata leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Speculation has been mounting about Mata's future with reports indicating that Willian's possible arrival could pave the way for the Spanish playmaker to join Manchester United.
Mata was purported to be the subject of a possible swap-deal involving Wayne Rooney, who remains Mourinho's top striking target.
And the Portuguese supremo has once again made his feelings clear on the Mata issue.
"No speculation. He is a player we all like, we all want to keep and we want more quality in the team, not less quality," Mourinho told reporters at a news conference.
"We want to add quality to that quality we have.
"He isn't a player we want to lose."
However, according to ESPN, Manchester United are thought to have made an informal inquiry to Chelsea for his services although it is unclear whether it is connected to a possible Rooney deal.
United are also plotting a £38m move for Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil as David Moyes seeks to bring a creative force to the middle of the park.
