Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger keeping quiet over Mathieu Flamini reunion
ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has remained tight-lipped over a possible return to the club for Mathieu Flamini.
The 29-year-old quit the Emirates five years ago to join AC Milan, however has been training at London Colney after leaving the Serie A giants at the end of last season.
Arsenal's treatment table is mounting up with injuries with About Diaby (knee), Mikel Arteta (thigh) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) all unavailable for the Premier League game against Fulham.
The pressure has been mounting on Wenger to use the £70m kitty available to him following their disappointing opening day 3-1 home defeat against Aston Villa.
Wenger has already admitted his side's transfer activity is set to start in earnest now.
"First everybody goes on holiday and nobody wants to do anything," Wenger said.
"Then there are manager changes. They need to know the squad before they make a decision. Many things but it is always like that.
"From August 21 until September 2 you have 12 days – a lot will happen."
Arsenal are in need of midfield cover, but has been coy over whether Flamini will return.
"He is just here to work on his fitness and he does that very well,” Wenger said.
“I don't say there is no chance and I don't say there is a chance [of him joining."
