Chelsea to go for Jackson Martinez if they fail to land Man United's Wayne Rooney
CHELSEA are deciding whether to turn to Porto striker Jackson Martinez should they fail to pull off a move for Wayne Rooney.
The Blues are poised to up their bid for Rooney to £28m, however will delay submitting their bid until after next Monday's Premier League clash between the two sides.
Mourinho is bearing in mind other options with £5m Anzhi striker Samuel Eto'o on his agenda.
ESPN has it that Mourinho has become an admirer of Martinez as he feels he could fit into Chelsea's system.
The Portuguese tactician admitted he has a few plans up his sleeve and recently said: "We have plans B and C.
"Don't ask me names because it's difficult to speak about players from other clubs."
Recent reports suggested that Martinez had signed a new contract with Porto, however he denied the claims.
Porto aren't willing to let Martinez leave for less than buy-out clause which is believed to be worth £30m.
The Colombian was prolific last term, firing home 34 goals in 43 games.
