Liverpool facing uphill battle to prise Mamadou Sakho from PSG
LIVERPOOL look like facing an uphill battle to land Mamadou Sakho before the window closes.
The powerful French defender has been courted by the Reds in recent weeks, with Brendan Rodgers keen to provide more steel to his back-line.
It is thought that the 23-year-old prefers a move to AC Milan, with PSG coach Laurent Blanc confirming the player's desire to leave the Parc des Princes.
But according to French paper Le Parisien, another Italian club are vying for his services.
The same paper goes on to claim that Sakho's agent is due to meet with the unnamed club to discuss a possible move.
Liverpool are also thought to be weighing up whether to rekindle their interest to sign Sporting Lisbon's Tiago Ilori in the wake of Sebastian Coates' cruciate injury.
But Sporting are unwilling to budge on their £6m asking price for the player.
