Bournemouth 1 - Wigan 0: Lewis Grabban strikes again
CALLUM MCMANAMAN was sent off after only four minutes on the pitch as Lewis Grabban’s goal earned Bournemouth a surprise victory against Wigan.
Grabban scored his fourth goal of the season as Championship newcomers Bournemouth upset the odds to beat the FA Cup holders.
A wayward pass from James Perch two minutes from half-time found its way to Grabban, who rounded Wigan goalkeeper Scott Carson to score. Carson saved a Brett Pitman penalty awarded for Jean Beausejour’s second-half foul on the Bournemouth forward.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: “Even though they were reduced to 10 men for a spell during the game, I don’t think that should take the gloss off the win for us.”
