Chelsea, Manchester United and Monaco target Samuel Eto'o attracts Roma interest
ROMA have staked their interest in Anzhi forward Samuel Eto'o by making an enquiry for his services.
Russian giants Anzhi are currently on the precipice of financial ruin and are looking at a major clearout of players to help ease the books.
Eto'o along with Chris Samba and Willian are being put up for sale and Chelsea have already shown some interest.
According to Italian paper Corriere dello Sport, his agent has made a call to Roma but a move to Inter Milan has been ruled out.
Other reports in Italy suggest that Manchester United and Monaco are also in the chase for him, but Chelsea are thought to be the frontrunners.
The only potential stumbling block to a move for Eto'o could be his wages as he rakes in nearly £8m a season.
Chelsea have lined up Eto'o as an alternative should they fail to claw away Wayne Rooney.
