Barcelona's Dani Alves says he would be happy if Chelsea's David Luiz joined
BARCELONA star Dani Alves has implored the club to make a move for David Luiz and insists he would be a good addition.
The Catalan giants have been circling around Luiz in the past few weeks and are already thought to have made a £35m bid that has been rebuffed by the Blues.
More significantly, Jose Mourinho has stated that Luiz is firmly part of his plans.
But Alves has said that he would welcome Luiz with open arms should he swap Stamford Bridge for the Camp Nou.
"I would be happy if David Luiz would come to Barcelona," Alves told Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo.
"I always want the best for my friends and advise them to join Barca if they get the chance.
"He's not just a friend, but he has a lot of quality, too.
"The problem is not whether he would like to come here, but that you have to take him away from Mourinho and that will not be easy."
Luiz is currently contracted with Chelsea until 2017.
