Roy Hodgson goes for a new look with England Under-21's
ROY HODGSON has included nine uncapped players in his Under-21 squad to face Scotland at Bramall Lane on Tuesday.
Hodgson has taken on the U21 role with no replacement for Stuart Pearce appointed.
And he has gone for a new look with only Jack Butland, Connor Wickham and Jonjo Shelvey having more than 10 caps.
Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard, and club colleague Tom Thorpe are among the fresh faces. Everton defender John Stones is also called up with Southampton’s Luke Shaw.
Eric Dier is another interesting choice, having emerged through Sporting Lisbon’s academy after his parents moved to Portugal from Cheltenham when he was 10.
Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling is selected too, despite talk he would be handed a senior call-up by Hodgson.
