'€100m seems a lot to me': Real chief Perez admits surprise at Spurs' valuation of Bale
REAL MADRID president Florentino Perez has cast doubt over Gareth Bale's £85m price tag, as he believes it is too much money.
The 24-year-old Welshman's White Hart Lane future has been the subject of frenzied speculation, with Real on his tail this window.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is believed to be having showdown talks with Perez in Miami, though is holding out for £105m for Bale's services, even though he is reticent to let him leave.
While Perez admitted talks are ongoing between both clubs, he questioned whther Bale has been valued too highly.
"We are talking with a lot of people and we will see what comes of our negotiations, I am talking about that player (Bale) and others," Perez is quoted as telling ESPN.
"I do not want to talk about players out of respect to the player himself (Bale), the club and the chairman (Daniel Levy) who is a friend of mine and with whom I struck up a good friendship last summer because of the transfer of Luka Modric.
"If we're not talking about names, we're not talking about money either, but 100 million (euros) seems a lot to me.
"But I am not talking seriously because there is no need and, as I said, out of respect for the club."
Real beat Chelsea 3-1 last night in the International Champions Cup final.
