Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City target Victor Andrade confirms English interest
BRAZILIAN wonder kid Victor Andrade has attracted interest from "some of the bigger clubs" in England, his agents have confirmed.
Andrade, who made his debut for Santos as a 16-year-old and has been labelled the 'new Neymar', is yet to sign a new contract at Santos as a host of European clubs hover to sign the youngster.
In England, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are all credited with an interest, while Liverpool and Newcastle are also thought to be monitoring the situation.
And now Andrade's agents, NVA Entertainment Group, have confirmed that English clubs are amongst those hoping to sign the player.
An NVA Entertainment Group spokesman said: "We can confirm that there is interest in England in Victor, and not unsurprisingly from some of the bigger clubs.
"Victor is a wonderful talent, but we and his family are calm and we are confident his future will be resolved at the right time, in the right way."
Santos will no doubt be keen to hold onto the talented prospect for as long as possible having already lost Neymar to Barcelona and seen fellow starlet Neilton, aged just 19, linked with a move to Tottenham.
But without having Andrade tied to a long-term contract they may be fighting a losing battle, especially after it was revealed that the player already holds an EU passport and does not require a work permit due to his Portugese parentage.
The player has also revealed that his godfather Robinho has also enticed him with stories of playing at the top level in Europe as he bids to be part of a World Cup on home soil.
Andrade told the Daily Mirror: "Quite simply, I would love to play in Europe.
"My godfather Robinho has told me of the great experiences he had at Real Madrid, Manchester City and AC Milan. He told me how it made him a better player because playing in Europe means you must adapt to different styles and systems.
"I think it will be a great education for me. Everybody around the world knows about the strength of the Premier League."
And the player hopes a move to this side of the world will give him a better shot at making Brazil's World Cup squad next summer.
He added: "It is a very exciting prospect for me. My dream is to play for Brazil in the World Cup and I believe that moving to Europe will help me because it will help my all-round game.
"I have no problem with Santos. They have helped me a lot. But I think the time is right for me to experience a change."
