Tottenham to battle PSG in the chase for Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye
TOTTENHAM have been revealed as a possible destination for Yohan Cabaye this summer, after PSG coach Laurent Blanc identified Spurs as his biggest rival to sign the player.
Cabaye was linked with a move to Manchester United earlier in the summer but it now appears that Tottenham are also interested in luring the 27-year-old away from St James' Park.
PSG are another club that has been linked with Cabaye and now Blanc has confirmed his interest, taking a shot at Newcastle in the process.
He said of Cabaye: "He is a very good player. I have not changed my mind.
"I read that Tottenham are also interested.
"Newcastle, Tottenham or Paris - I hope he will be at a big club in September."
The comments are sure to infuriate Alan Pardew, who not only seems at risk of losing one of his star players, but has also been critical of Blanc going public with his interest in Cabaye in the past.
Pardew said: "I don’t think that’s right.
"He can get on the phone to me or make a bid. I think that’s the right way to do it.
"I think the way it’s come out isn’t perhaps respectful to Yohan. That’s something I want to talk to him about."
Cabaye made 35 appearances for Newcastle last season and Alan Pardew has previously stated that he expects Cabaye to remain with the club as he pushes for a place in France's squad for the World Cup at the end of the season.
