United target Cristiano Ronaldo refuses to rule out Real Madrid exit
CRISTIANO RONALDO appeared to cast doubt over his future after refusing to confirm reports in Spain that suggested he had agreed a new five-year deal with Real Madrid.
Manchester United have been tipped to seal a sensational return to Old Trafford for Ronaldo - who has two years left on his contract at the Bernabeu.
Spanish sports paper Marca today report that the 28-year-old had tied his future to Real until 2018, increasing his salary to nearly £300,000 per-week.
However, Ronaldo has denied such claims having courted speculation linking him with a return to United by admitting he misses English football.
"My future? I don't know," said Ronaldo in a press conference in Los Angeles. "In this moment I'm a player of Madrid [but] in the future I don't know. But at the moment I'm good.
"The situation still hasn't been resolved and I don't think now is the right time to talk about it.
"Perhaps we'll be able to give more concrete news about this further down the line but now the only thing in my remit is to train and work."
Ronaldo was also coy about Real's pursuit of Tottenham forward Gareth Bale, who is set to break the Portuguese star's £80m transfer record.
"I'm not qualified to talk about new players, but I'm very happy with the players the team already has," added Ronaldo.
"In terms of the transfer fee, you should speak to the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and president [Florentino Perez] about that. I have my opinion, but I'm not going to reveal it in front of the cameras."
