CONFIRMED: Tottenham sign £26m Roberto Soldado from Valencia
TOTTENHAM have completed the signing of Valencia striker Roberto Soldado for £26million, subject to a medical.
Soldado is set to become Andre Villas-Boas' third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Paulinho and Nacer Chadli.
A statement on Tottenham's official website said: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Valencia for the transfer of Roberto Soldado subject to medical."
Express Sport reported on Monday that Spurs were closing in on Soldado after meeting the £26m (€30m) release clause in his contract at Valencia.
The North London club's bid to sign the hitman hit a small block over personal terms, but that has now been resolved.
Valencia president Amadeo Salvo said: "The agreement with Tottenham is total. A problem with the agents has emerged. Once resolved, he will go."
Reports in Spain suggest that the issue forced Soldado's agents to waive a £261,000 (€300,000) commission fee from Valencia.
The La Liga outfit are already searching for the 28-year-old's replacement, with Chelsea's Fernando Torres and Arsenal's Olivier Giroud both linked with switches to the Mestalla.
