Southampton hit snag with Celtic's Victor Wanyama over personal terms
SOUTHAMPTON'S hopes of signing Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama are hanging in the balance despite agreeing a £12m fee.
The 21-year-old has been at the centre of one of the most intriguing transfer sagas this summer, and had piqued the interest of a number of leading Premier League clubs including Arsenal.
We reported earlier today that Wanyama's agents are pushing for a switch to Turkey, as footballers only have to pay a basic 15% rate of tax.
And it seems that Wanyama is ready to listen to other offers after turning down the Saints' first contract proposal.
"While the bid was okay for Celtic, the terms were not right for myself and my agent," Wanyama told the Southern Daily Echo.
"I am open to what offers are made, but I am relaxed and it's important that Celtic are happy too."
Liverpool and Stoke are also thought to be keeping an eye on how events unfold.
