Spurs in pole position for Paulinho after seeing £17m bid accepted
SPURS are in pole position to make Paulinho their first signing of the summer after seeing a £17m bid for him accepted.
The Corinthians midfielder has been tracked with Andre Villas-Boas in recent weeks for a while along with Inter Milan's Fredy Guarin.
Though the 24-year-old is aware of a bid, he has re-iterated he will only make a decision once the Confederation Cup finishes.
Paulinho was also a long-standing target for Inter Milan, but now they may have to rethink their plans.
“There is an official offer from Tottenham,” Paulinho told a British paper.
“But, as I did when there was an Inter Milan offer, I’ll sit down with my family before I make any decision.”
"I will only do it after the Confederations Cup because it's hard to deal with all these things," Paulinho was quoted as telling a British paper.
Real Madrid, who look to have beaten off Manchester City in the race to sign Isco, along with Roma are also interested parties.
