Jose Mourinho tells players: Behave or you're out
JOSE MOURINHO will tell his Chelsea’s players at a pre-season summit on July 8: We’ll do it my way . . . or else.
He will mark his second coming by stressing how important it is to him – and owner Roman Abramovich – that Chelsea’s assault on the Premier League and Europe next season is not tarnished by race rows and off-field incidents like it was last term.
Any player who doesn’t toe the line will be out. Mourinho said: “If you put the club in front of yourself and you are here to work 100 per cent for me, your fellow players and the club, we will have a wonderful relationship. But if you are selfish and don’t care about the club, the fans or our image, we are in big trouble. Sometimes you have a couple of guys not so keen to accept these rules and this is where you have problems.
“If a problematic relationship exists and the club supports the manager those little guys . . . puff!” His cheeky trademark grin left little doubt what will happen to such rebels. Mourinho is determined to maintain big-time success. “I want Chelsea to always play in the Champions League – and without risk,” he said.
“This season we had risk until the last match, trying to get a Champions League spot, so we need to go back to stability."
