Goal machine Radamel Falcao aiming to bring silverware to new club Monaco
COLUMBIAN striker Radamel Falcao is aiming to bring silverware to AS Monaco following his £50 million transfer to the free spending Ligue 1 club.
The 27-year-old said the club have high ambitions but he believes by working hard they will bring titles to the newly promoted club.
The former Atletico Madrid star added that he was committed to Monaco for the long-term and it was not a stepping stone to a bigger club.
Speaking at an press conference for his international team, Falcao said: "I hope Monaco can achieve success.
"I believe we have to work very hard to achieve the goal the club wants to achieve.
"That's our way for a happy ending by winning titles, and we will work for that."
There were rumours that a clause was written into Falcao's contract which would allow him to move to Real Madrid if they bid for him next season.
Such a move would allow him to move to the La Liga giants without directly switching from their bitter rivals Atletico.
But Falcao said he was sure he would be at Monaco for 'some time' as the club's directors want to reach the highest level of European football.
He added: "We're all waiting for some top players to join Monaco. I'm sure they'll be here in the next few weeks."
The club have already spent over £100 million in the transfer window, snapping up Porto pair Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez for £60m.
They also signed former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho from Real Madrid.
