German wonderkid Julian Draxler interested in Chelsea or Manchester United move
MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea are on red alert after Germany starlet Julian Draxler hinted that he was keen on a move away from current club Schalke.
Draxler has been linked with a departure from the Veltins-Arena in recent months, with a host of Premier League and European clubs tracking him.
Arsenal were tipped to make a £15 million bid for the 19-year-old towards the end of last season, but it now appears that any potential suitors will have to offer over double that figure.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is considering a £38m move for the playmaker, who signed fresh terms with Schalke last month.
However, Draxler has intimated that he could still leave the Bundesliga outfit, telling Dutch TV show Sport1: "Which boy doesn't dream about playing for Real, Barca, Chelsea or Manchester United?"
"That's nothing to be ashamed of."
Draxler's agent Roger Wittmann has maintained Schalke's stance that the player will not be sold for less than £38m.
"The player [Draxler] costs 45.5 million [euros], and he has to agree - these are the conditions of the transfer," Wittmann told German sports paper Bild.
Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt has also had his say on the forward's transfer situation, telling Bild: "There has been no official transfer enquiry from Chelsea and we are not in contact with them.
"But, it must be noted, there will always be interest in players with the qualities Julian Draxler has."
