Marseille deemed good alternative for Spurs target Leandro Damiao's agent
SPURS' hopes of signing Leandro Damiao hang in the balance as Marseille has been viewed as an attractive alternative by his agent.
The French outfit had originally ruled themselves out of the running for the Brazilian, as they thought he was too expensive.
Andre Villas-Boas has grandiose plans for the summer ahead and Damiao has been considered as part of a £36m double swoop which includes Roberto Soldado.
Although Damiao favours Champions League football, his agent has said that Marseille can not be ignored should they be forthcoming and make an offer.
"The leaders of this team have not made me an offer for my client," Damiao's agent Vinicius Prates told Brazilian football portal Sambafoot.
"In any case, Marseille is a great club with a great history and France is a country where life is good.
“Moreover, the championship of France has become competitive with big clubs like Marseille, PSG and Monaco.
“Marseille could be an interesting club for Leandro Damiao - especially since there is nothing completed with Tottenham."
The 23-year-old was the top scorer at last summer's Olympics football tournament.
