Sven Goran Eriksson resigns from Dubai post to take up managerial role at Chinese club
SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON has resigned from his post as technical director of United Arab Emirates club Al Nasr to take up a managerial post at a Chinese club.
The Swede is thought to be a candidate for Guangzhou R&F, and is expected to sign terms on a deal believed to be worth £2.5m.
Al Nasr dispensed with manager Walter Zenga over the weekend after they finished sixth in the UAE domestic league.
Gunagzhou are currently on a three-week break, and Eriksen will inherit a squad that includes former Blackburn Rovers forward Yakubu.
Eriksen's long career includes a five-year spell as England coach, as well as stints at Roma, Lazio, Benfica, Manchester City and Mexico.
