WATCH: Sir Alex Ferguson joins in Mexican wave during Manchester United legends match
SIR ALEX FERGUSON may have only recently retired, but he was keen to get into the party mood at Old Trafford.
After watching ex-United keeper Edwin van der Sar make a rare error by miscontrolling a back pass, Ferguson stood up along with Bobby Charlton to join in a mass Mexican wave.
Ferguson clearly enjoyed himself as he beamed a smile during the match which was in aid of United's charity Red Heart United.
A crowd of 60,000 turned out to see some of the most iconic figures of yesteryear pit their wits against each other.
The game itself was packed full of incident. Ruud van Nistelrooy, who played a half for each side got on a scoresheet, as equalised Fernando Morientes' opener with a terrific solo effort.
Ruben de la Red, who had to retire from the game at 27 due to a heart condition, scored the winner with an impudent chip.
