Chelsea ready to sacrifice Fernando Torres for Edinson Cavani
CHELSEA it seems are ready to pull out all the stops to land Edinson Cavani this summer.
The feared Napoli marksman has been a long-standing Manchester City target and appeared ready to force through a move to La Liga powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid.
With the Blues poised to miss out on Radamel Falcao, who is Monaco bound, attentions have turned to Cavani.
And it seems they are ready to use Fernando Torres as a makeweight in a potential deal in order to realise a deal.
Reports in Italy suggest that Chelsea will offer £25m plus Torres to land Cavani.
The Uruguayan's release clause stands at around £50m which may prove steep for Chelsea, however Torres could prove a sweetener for Napoli's new boss Rafa Benitez to reunite with the much-maligned Spaniard.
Cavani smashed 36 goals last term for Napoli.
