Liverpool striker Luis Suarez coy over Real Madrid move
LUIS SUAREZ is open to the possibility of leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid this summer if the La Liga outfit were to make a bid for him.
While Madrid are thought to be focusing their efforts on signing Tottenham's £60 million-rated forward Gareth Bale in this transfer window, Suarez is also on the agenda at the Bernabeu.
The Uruguayan hitman will start next season still serving his suspension for controversially biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, but the Liverpool star is reportedly eyeing up a switch to Spain before then.
According to Spanish sports paper AS, during a recent trip to his homeland Suarez responded to questions about Real's interest in him by smiling and keeping quiet.
Although the two club's are far from the negotiating table, Suarez's £30m valuation would not be prohibitive for the Champions League semi-finalists, who are expected to spend heavily this summer following a trophyless campaign.
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has already begun scouring the market for potential replacements for the 26-year-old, despite publicly maintaining that he will not be sold.
But while Suarez is happy with life at Liverpool, should the opportunity to progress in footballing terms in the Spanish capital arise he would be keen to take advantage of such an offer.
