Chelsea told Galatasaray star Burak Yilmaz will cost £20m
CHELSEA have been told they will have to pay £20 million for Galatasary's Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz.
Chelsea made an enquiry for Turkey international Yilmaz at the end of a season where the 27-year-old has fired 34 goals in 43 appearances for club and country.
With Jose Mourinho's return to Chelsea given a date of June 2, the Portuguese tactician intends to hit the ground running with his transfer targets at Stamford Bridge this summer.
And Yilmaz's eight Champions League goals - the joint third in the competition - have piqued the attention of both Mourinho and Chelsea.
Ex-Blues hero Didier Drogba has recommended his current Galatasaray team-mate to his former employers, but the Turkish outfit have insisted any sale for Yilmaz will necessitate a £20m transfer fee.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Italian side Napoli have been tracking the 6ft 2in hitman throughout this campaign, but all interested parties could face a battle convincing him Yilmaz to leave Istanbul.
"I'm really happy here," Yilmaz said earlier this month. "I have a long-term contract here. If an offer is put on the table then it's the club's decision which will matter, not mine."
