PSG contact outgoing interim Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez
OUTGOING Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez is the latest name to be considered to replace Carlo Ancelotti in the PSG hot seat.
The Spaniard, as we reported has been heavily backed to replace the departed Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri and is also in the frame for the Stoke vacancy after Tony Pulis left the club yesterday by mutual consent.
Though Benitez was a wholly unpopular figure during his seven-month stint at Stamford Bridge, finished with a flourish after guiding Chelsea to Europa League success as well as third place in the Premier League.
Chelsea, who are currently on an end-of-season tour in the USA, are expected to announce Jose Mourinho, who will leave Real Madrid on June 1, as Benitez's successor.
French paper L'Equipe reports PSG have been in touch with Rafa Benitez to enquire whether he would be interested in the position.
They go on to say that while Benitez is keen on the PSG project, they haven't ruled out Fabio Capello or Roberto Mancini as candidates.
PSG lifted their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years last season.
