Manchester City manager-in-waiting Manuel Pellegrini confirms Malaga exit
MANUEL PELLEGRINI has confirmed he will leave Malaga at the end of the season, which will prick the ears of Manchester City.
It has been widely reported that Pellegrini will succeed Roberto Mancini in the Etihad hot-seat with the deposed Premier League champions ready to present him with a £50m welcome gift by providing him with Isco and Edinson Cavani.
Though Pellegrini has denied a move to Manchester City is done and dusted, he seems to be primed to take over the reins.
He announced the news via Spanish paper Marca's website, Marca.com: "My coaching staff and I are separating from Malaga but our union with this city will be eternal.
"I'm going for sporting reasons.
"I've been fortunate enough, and very proud, that every year the big clubs have shown an interest in me.
"I have an agreement with Malaga not to talk to anyone and nothing has been agreed with any other club.
"I hope in the coming weeks that things will become a little clearer about what is going to be the future here at this club."
Meanwhile Wigan manager Roberto Martinez, who has been backed for the Everton job, has said he will make a decision on his future within 24 hours.
