Southampton insist Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal target Luke Shaw will stay
SOUTHAMPTON starlet Luke Shaw looks set to stay at the club after Mauricio Pochettino denied he could be sold this summer.
Saints boss Pochettino laughed off suggestions that Shaw could leave St Mary's with Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal linked with the talented left-back.
Tottenham were hoping to capitalise on the boardroom uncertainty at the club to swoop for the 17-year-old this summer, which has now been resolved with chairman Nicola Cortese announcing he has withdrawn his threat to quit over a lack of backing from the owners.
Earlier this season Shaw professed a desire to join Chelsea during a Twitter Q&A session, while Arsenal have also scouted the Londoner.
However, Pochettino dismissed the speculation, saying he will remain at Southampton 'for sure' before remarking: "Perhaps we will go and get some Chelsea players ourselves!"
The Argentine manager went on to say: "I think that Nicola Cortese staying is the best possible news for next season.
"That is very good for the squad, for the whole club. We will talk about the summer and the budgets with Nicola."
