Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas does little to dispel David Villa link
SPURS boss Andre Villas-Boas has revealed his admiration for David Villa, but is not getting sidetracked by such talk.
Villa has been heavily linked with a Premier League switch, and as we reported yesterday, Spurs are closing in on a £15m deal for the 31-year-old.
Spurs have also been tracking St Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang though he could be a forlorn hope as he has expressed his desire to join Real Madrid.
Villas-Boas wants his side to take care of the business at hand which is on Sunday and beat Sunderland to give themselves a chance of a top-four finish.
Villas-Boas said: "He is one of the world's best strikers.
"What comes out of speculation at this time at Tottenham is very surreal because you know the club is very active in the last weeks of the transfer window, so you can see that speculation is growing - but at the moment we are focused on trying to get fourth spot."
Villa managed only nine goals in Barcelona's successful La Liga campaign.
