Manchester City dealt setback in pursuit of Borussia Dortmund's Jakub Blaszczykowski
MANCHESTER CITY are set to be knocked back in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Jakub Blaszczykowski.
The Citizens have been tracking the Poland international for a while along with Juventus.
The deposed Premier League champions are in need of more width, with David Silva failing to hit the heights of last season and Scott Sinclair poised for the Etihad exit.
Blaszczykowski who is believed to have a £12.7m buy-out clause inserted his contract, which wouldn't have been prohibitive for City.
However, he has put an end to speculation about his future, declaring he is happy to stay at Dortmund until 2018.
"I have been here for six years now and I'm part of the city and the club," Blaszczykowski told Polish paper Przeglad Sportowy.
"I have grown up as well. I have no fears or worries.
"The question is where would I feel as good as I do in Dortmund."
Blaszczykowski declaration will be welcome news to Dortmund, who already sanctioned Mario Gotze's sale to rivals Bayern Munich last month.
