Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba hits out at racist abuse
DIDIER DROGBA has hit back over racist abuse he suffered from Fenerbahce fans during the match with Galatasaray on Sunday.
The saddest thing is you called me monkey and forgot that you ignored my ‘monkey’ brother who scored twice.
The former Chelsea striker and fellow Ivorian Emmanuel Eboue were targetted for monkey chants.
Drogba said: “You call me monkey but you cried when Chelsea beat Fenerbahce in 2008, and also chanted it again when I won the Champions League. The saddest thing is you called me monkey and forgot that you ignored my ‘monkey’ brother who scored twice.”
Cameroonian Pierre Webo scored both Fenerbahce goals in a 2-1 victory in Sunday’s Istanbul derby.
