Manchester City to commence squad overhaul with £17m offer for Arjen Robben
FORMER CHELSEA winger Arjen Robben could return to the Premier League this summer with deposed champions Manchester City.
While Roberto Mancini has lost his Manchester City job, the club are still going ahead with summer recruitment plans with a number of new players alongside a manager set to come in.
Robben, 29, who played for Chelsea between 2004 and 2007, is not in Bayern Munich's plans for next season under incoming boss Pep Guardiola and may look to leave for regular first-team football.
The Dutchman has been used sparingly this season, despite starring in the 7-0 Champions League semi-final of Barcelona.
And according to Spanish newspaper Sport, Robben could be snapped up by City this summer for €20 million (£17m).
Robben's contract with the Bavarian giants runs out at the end of the 2013/14 campaign, and Bayern may prefer to cash in on the player now having already layer down £32m to secure playmaker Mario Gotze from rivals Borussia Dortmund.
Reportedly, Turkish outfit Galatasaray had an offer rejected by the former Real Madrid star recently, and while Juventus are also interested they would not be able to compete with City financially to sign Robben.
