Frank Lampard to earn Europa League final start for Chelsea
RAFA BENITEZ is expected to make a late U-turn and play record-breaker Frank Lampard in the Europa League final.
The Chelsea interim manager had intended to leave Lampard, who scored twice at Aston Villa to become Chelsea’s all-time record scorer with 203 goals, out of tomorrow’s final in Amsterdam against Benfica.
But Eden Hazard is struggling with a hamstring injury and faces a late test today, which could open the door for Lampard. Benitez, whose side qualified for the Champions League next season thanks to the win at Villa Park, will make a final decision today.
Skipper John Terry is very doubtful with an ankle problem and he too will have a late test. But winger Victor Moses is set to keep his place after four goals in four games in the competition.
