Manchester City and Liverpool target Eric Abidal could leave Barcelona
MANCHESTER CITY and Liverpool tried to lure Eric Abidal to the Premier League last year - and they could be set move for the Frenchman again.
The Barcelona left-back, who has returned from a liver transplant which saved him from cancer, is out of contract next June and the Catalan giants have not initiated talks for a new deal.
Abidal has already voiced his fears to fellow players and according to Spanish newspaper Marca, he told one team-mate: "If they still haven't contacted me at this stage of the season, it's because they don't want me to continue at the club."
We've had a meeting scheduled with President Rosell since February - but we're still waiting
On Tuesday, Abidal's agent David Venditelli said: "We will accept any decision the club makes. The worst part right now is the uncertainty. We've had a meeting scheduled with President Rosell since February - but we're still waiting."
City and Liverpool were both interested in Abidal's services before he signed a new contract with Barca.
