Manchester United and Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski in secret talks with Real Madrid
MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea's plans to sign Robert Lewandowski have suffered a blow after the Borussia Dortmund striker held a secret meeting with Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old Polish ace is one of the most sought-after players in European football after scoring four against Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.
United could see Lewandowski as the perfect replacement for the unhappy Wayne Rooney while Chelsea are keen to bolster their frontline in a bid to reclaim the Premier League title.
But the Dortmund star held a 10-minute secret meeting with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez last week, according to German newspaper Bild.
It's understood that Perez grabbed Lewandowski in the players' tunnel after the second leg of the semi-final before disappearing with him in an office under the grandstand of the stadium.
The news will come as a big blow to the Premier League big boys who still harbour hopes of bringing the Pole to England.
