Liverpool's Daniel Agger calls for club to add quality up front
LIVERPOOL defender Daniel Agger has called for the board to sign more players that carry a goal threat.
Agger, as we revealed yesterday, quelled speculation he could be off to Barcelona in the summer, by stressing that he intends to see out his current contract.
The Reds have been firming up their wish list, and have been keeping a tab on Christian Eriksen and Ashley Williams.
Liverpool bought shrewdly in January, bringing in Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho who have made an instant impact at Anfield.
And with Luis Suarez banned for ten matches, Liverpool need to replenish their main source of goals.
But Agger believes the club need to more 'consistency' up front to make them a more potent attacking force.
"Liverpool will always attract great talent and footballers so I'm not worried about that," Agger told a British newspaper.
"We need to change something. We need to get some goals in and we need to move forward. It is difficult to say if the squad needs much work.
"We've shown some really good football this season but we haven't been consistent enough - we have to admit that. That is what we need - we need consistency."
The Reds are in danger of finishing below their Merseyside rivals Everton for a second consecutive season.
