Julian Draxler spurns Arsenal's advances to sign new long-term deal with Schalke
ARSENAL and Manchester United have both been snubbed by Julian Draxler, as he put pen to paper on a fresh deal with Schalke.
Draxler, who came through the academy system at the Bundesliga outfit has caught the eye with some stellar performances this season.
Schalke's general manager Horst Heldt recently stated Draxler was not for sale, and indicated that it would take a minimum bid of £85m for the club to discuss a transfer.
The two Premier League clubs were also rivalled by Borussia Dortmund for his signature, though Draxler insisted he would not join them.
Dortmund are looking to make reinforcements after sanctioning a £31.5m deal for Mario Gotze to join bitter adversaries Bayern Munich.
Draxler has weighed in with 10 goals in the Bundesliga this term.
His new contract will see him stay at the Veltins Arena until 2018.
