Fulham star Dimitar Berbatov targeted by Russian clubs
FULHAM may face a battle to hold onto top-scorer Dimitar Berbatov this summer after the player's agent revealed there is interest in the Bulgarian.
Berbatov has had a strong first season at the Cottagers following his £4m switch from Manchester United, with Fulham boss Martin Jol hopeful of keeping him for 'two or three' more years.
However, it appears that the 32-year-old could be tempted with a big-money move to Russia, potentially as a replacement for seemingly Premier League bound Hulk at Zenit St Petersburg.
Berbatov's agent Emil Danchev said: "I have heard of interest from Russian clubs.
"Much will depend on Fulham but at the moment I do not know of any formal offers."
Meanwhile, impressive loan star Sascha Riether wants to make his move permanent, after being named Fulham's Player of the Year by his team-mates.
Riether isn't fazed by the prospect of Fulham losing some of their better players either, saying: "If some players do leave, other good players will come and I think Fulham will have a great team next year."
