Blackburn 1 - Crystal Palace 1: Jordan Rhodes earns his prize
THERE are 27 reasons why Jordan Rhodes is Blackburn’s player of the season – and he might just have ensured Gary Bowyer is their manager next term.
I’m not looking any further ahead than the trip to Birmingham next Saturday.
Rhodes, who was voted Rovers’ outstanding performer by their fans, received his trophy before kick-off and then scored a vital goal in their Championship survival push.
Trailing to Stephen Dobbie’s 28th-minute opener, Blackburn were saved when Rhodes latched on to Josh King’s chip to lob in an equaliser three minutes from half-time. It was his 27th goal since joining Rovers from Huddersfield in August.
Caretaker boss Bowyer said: “I’m not looking any further ahead than the trip to Birmingham next Saturday. A week’s a long time at this club.”
