Blackpool 2- Derby 1: Ludovic Sylvestre’s the saviour
LUDOVIC SYLVESTRE finally broke Adam Legzdins’ resistance with a crucial injury-time winner that secured Blackpool’s safety.
We were looking for a hero and it couldn’t have fallen to a better person than Ludo
The Derby goalkeeper denied the Seasiders on four separate occasions as they pounded the Rams’ goal. But French midfielder Sylvestre somehow popped up on the edge of the area and launched a shot past Legzdins’ despairing dive.
Gary Taylor-Fletcher’s opener gave Blackpool the edge and Tom Ince could have made the game safe but he hit the post from a penalty.
Rams’ sub Ben Davies volleyed in an equaliser but Sylvestre had the last word.
Blackpool boss Paul Ince said: “We were looking for a hero and it couldn’t have fallen to a better person than Ludo.”
