Bristol City 1 - Huddersfield 3: James Vaughan does the trick
JAMES VAUGHAN struck a priceless hat-trick to lead Huddersfield towards Championship survival.
It’s amazing to be on 57 points in the Championship and not be mathematically safe.
The Terriers capitalised on a poor display from already-relegated Bristol to ease their relegation fears.
Vaughan was presented with a second minute tap-in by strike partner Lee Novak.
Eleven minutes later Oliver Norwood’s free kick saw Vaughan’s glancing header beat Tom Heaton from 12 yards. On 64 minutes Novak crossed for an unmarked Vaughan to head home again.
Lewin Nyatanga headed a late consolation for Bristol who were roundly booed by their own fans.
Huddersfield boss Mark Robins said: “It’s amazing to be on 57 points in the Championship and not be mathematically safe.”
