Arsenal fail with Olivier Giroud appeal
ARSENAL forward Olivier Giroud will have to serve a three-match ban after his appeal to have his red card against Fulham rescinded was rejected.
The Frenchman was given a straight red for an over the top tackle on Stanislav Manolev at Craven Cottage in the last minute of the game.
Wenger defended Giroud after the game, claiming the striker 'slipped' as he launched himself into the challenge.
But this was rejected by the Independent Regulatory Commission.
Giroud will now miss games against Manchester United, QPR and Wigan.
Arsenal currently lie in third position in the Premier League.
