Gareth Barry wants to extend Manchester City contract
MANCHESTER CITY midfielder Gareth Barry has revealed his desire to stay at the club beyond the end of his current deal's expiry next summer.
Barry has been a regular performer for Roberto Mancini's side since his £12m from Aston Villa in 2009, making 36 appearances this season.
But his Manchester City contract runs out next summer, with the 32-year-old yet to be offered fresh terms with the reigning Premier League champions.
The England international is keen to tie his future to the club, saying he feels settled in Manchester.
I'd like to stay as long as possible. For a player to feel settled and feel very comfortable, you generally want to be playing regular football
"I am happy here and very settled," said Barry. "I spent 12 years at Villa and I've spent four years at City and I'm not really one for moving around.
"I'd like to stay as long as possible. For a player to feel settled and feel very comfortable, you generally want to be playing regular football.
"I've been lucky enough to feature in a lot of games this season. That's one reason why I am happy to stay.
"I am sure decisions will be made over the summer."
