Falcao is Chelsea's striker priority with Mario Gomez first alternative
CHELSEA have set their sights on signing £50m Falcao this summer, but will turn to Mario Gomez if they fail to land the Colombian.
Falcao has been the centre of an on-going transfer saga with Chelsea, with owner Roman Abramovich reportedly keen on bringing the Atletico Madrid hitman to Stamford Bridge.
With a release clause of around £60m, it will cost the Blues more than the £50m they paid to Liverpool for flop Fernando Torres.
If Chelsea do not manage to bag their first priority this summer, then the West London outfit will turn to Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez.
Gomez has struggled to hold down a first team spot with the Bavarians preferring to play Mario Mandzukic up front this season, but he is still a highly regarded finisher.
Both players are aged 27, although Gomez would represent the cheaper option with a likely fee of around £25m.
