Nottm Forest 0 - Barnsley 0: Tykes’ man of Steele
LUKE STEELE produced a one-man show to deny promotion-chasing Forest – and hand Barnsley a potentially vital point in their battle to beat the drop.
The Tykes keeper made save after save to keep Billy Davies’ side at bay, while the hosts also hit the woodwork four times.
Forest were desperate for victory having seen their form dip in recent weeks to see them exit the top six. And they dominated this clash. Boss Davies said: “I can ask no more. We’ve seen the post, bar, crosses and shots and we should have got three points.”
Barnsley’s Dave Flitcroft said: “Luke Steele’s a top keeper, but to keep a clean sheet at Notts Forest takes more than a keeper, it’s a real squad effort to get draws at these kind of places. That group of players have earned it.”
