Silence for Anne
LIVERPOOL will hold a minute’s silence in memory of Anne Williams, Hillsborough campaigner, before Sunday’s game against Chelsea.
I’m sure Kevin will be telling her how proud he was. Our prayers are with her family.
Williams, 60, lost a six-month battle against cancer days after attending Monday’s memorial service at Anfield on the 24th anniversary of the tragedy.
Her son Kevin was just 15 when he was one of 96 Liverpool fans who died at the 1989 FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest.
An original inquest into the tragedy found he had died before 3.15pm that day, but she found evidence to the contrary and the accidental death verdicts were quashed.
Kenny Dalglish, the manager of Liverpool at Hillsborough, said: “I’m sure Kevin will be telling her how proud he was. Our prayers are with her family.”
