Wayne Rooney struggles but there's no stopping Manchester United
WAYNE ROONEY endured yet another miserable night for Manchester United after being hauled off. But Robin van Persie rescued a point against West Ham – meaning the title could be won on Monday night.
Rooney, forced to play in midfield, was at fault for the Hammers’ second goal and was jeered by the home fans when taken off in the 71st minute.
Ricardo Vaz Te gave the Hammers the lead, before Antonio Valencia made it 1-1. Mohamed Diame made it 2-1 – but Van Persie scored from an offside position.
If Manchester City, who beat Wigan 1-0 thanks to Carlos Tevez’s goal, lose against Spurs on Sunday, United would win the title if they defeat Aston Villa on Monday.
John Terry scored twice as Chelsea moved third by beating Fulham 3-0.
